You have to raise your kinds right. My kids know you don't go near the cars, especially the wagon. Damage the cars=find a new place to live before dad gets home. That's the way I grew up.

Re: Craigslist Ad Almost Makes You Want To Cry
Long time ago a friend of mine had a '63 Pontiac Catalina 2 door hardtop. I was going to buy it from him when I got out of the Navy. One day his little sister and her little friend got in the garage and started playing in the car. They pulled it out of park and it rolled backward down the steep driveway into a tree. Girls not hurt, Pontiac totaled! I was pretty bummed until my folks got me a line on a '75 Chevy Laguna Type S-3. That softened the blow, but I still miss that old Pontiac sometimes, it was pretty sweet.

Re: Craigslist Ad Almost Makes You Want To Cry
lady down the street when I was a kid, she was a ingle mom, seriouse limited budget, dead beat dad, so no funds coimng from him... she finally got herself a screaming deal on a fairly new caprice wagon. (like an 86 or an 87... this was in 91) She told me a friend sold it to her for like 1200 bucks or so, nicest thing she could ever dream of getting. Kids inside playing around, mom left the keys in it.
Car ended up in the creek in the back yard, which was a good 100 feet down hill, but a good 30 to 40 foot drop in elevation. Had to get a big tow truck to get it out... big peterbuilt rig, had all the light and med duty trucks lifting there front tires off the ground when tugging on it. Turned out, the sheet metal had wrapped around the tree it hit, and the tree came up the hill with the car. Well, most of the tree did anyways. |

Re: Craigslist Ad Almost Makes You Want To Cry
About a year ago I was in my front yard and heard a weird scraping sound saw something out of the corner of my eye, right when I looked I heard a BIG crash. I walked up the hill an saw a guy running down towards me. I looked over and down into the creek about 30 feet off the road and saw a RENTAL Bobcat on a trailer just peekin up at me. This Idiot unhitched it from his trailer on a BIG hill with out any wheel chocks so he could go pick up his kids !!! Well about four hours later and 3 tow trucks into the deal, one of which snapped a line trying to get it out, they called the Semi in, he pulled it out like it was a toy. The crazy thing was it really did no damage short of leveling some trees and breaking a taillight on the trailer.
oh the next day I drove by and he had the tow truck out again, this time to set it up off its side when he rolled it down a hill sideways. I wonder if he really "saved" any money doing it himself ? |

Re: Craigslist Ad Almost Makes You Want To Cry
When I was a kid my father had a 70 Chevelle SS bad ass car, we went out my dad my younger brother and my self. He pulls into a gas station to check the air in the tires, he leaves the engine running for some reason dont know why, so my little brother stands on the drivers seat as I was in the front passenger seat and he start making believe that he is driving somehow or other the car was put in gear by him so the car begins to roll on idle as my father was putting air in one of the tires car rolls maybe about20 feet and hits a guard rail that if that rail was not there we would had gone down maybe a couple of hundred feet into a river this was in Puerto Rico talk about both us getting our asses kicked,,, him for doing it and me for not watching him......
