90's frame\suspension\axles

I have been looking at converting to 1\2 ton axles and suspension, however i can get a newer (90's) complete chevy truck for less than i can buy the parts from the junkyard. Has anyone ever put a 67-72 body on a late model frame? Its a big project, but im going to have to take the body off to do the air ride anyway, as long as the wheel base is the same it should work right? It would be nice to have the IFS, and power disc brakes. It would also be nice to work on the frame little by little, getting the air ride ready while still driving the burb.

I have also found a few 70's c10s complete for about the same as the junkyard axles, brakes, and suspension would cost, would i be better off just buying a c10 and converting what I have and selling the left overs?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I like the idea of using the 90's chassis For 1 parts are cheap, in stock and easy to find and 2 you have the option of going to fuel injection

Chris have you decided what frame you are going to use for the burb?

Re: 90's frame\suspension\axles

Actually i bought the suburban off ebay and it just got delivered last night. I may have spoke to soon. Its pretty rough. Im going to work on it a little this weekend and decide what im going to do with it. Its going to be alot of work, but its so unique it might be worth it to keep.

I may call on a 90s truck today, just to get an idea on wheelbase size.
