Re: picture time, might make you cry

I think you got short changed! A new "bumper kit" is damn near $300 now a days (looks like you may need a bracket or two and the license plate box looks bent).

Re: picture time, might make you cry

Not to be mean, but it sounds like you settled way too fast and the other guys agent took advantage of that, you may have hosed yourself.

I got t-boned back in 2006 in my driver side by a lady going 35mph who ran a red light and her insurance company wanted to settle my pain/suffering claim at $5500, after totalling my 2005 Subaru STi, and sending me to physical therapy for 6 months with 1 blown and 2 herniated discs that I get to live with the rest of my life. I came back over and over with docs, proof, and valid points related to my back injuries and eventually settled for $14k, 1.5 years after the accident, which was still a joke.

My point being that with any insurance related issue, you must wait them out, not 1.5 years, but you do need to take your vehicle to multiple body shops for quotes. Research and compile a list of every nut and bolt the repair will take, with firm pricing and quotes from suppliers and be able to prove what the damage is indeed going to cost them...I look at that damage to you truck and couldn't imagine fixing the bedside alone for $680...

I hope it all works out well for you and that settlement covers the damages

Man, that check should have had a 1 in front of the 680! After buying a new bumper, there might not be enough left to get a full repaint unless you find a coupon for Maaco. Tough break- I hope you at least bruised your fist on his face.

Its still not to late, go get your own quotes and take it back to the insurance agent. Tell them it wasn't enough money and they should cover it. Thats what I had to do last year.

Yeah, what he said. They call it a supplement. Once you point out how it will actually cost they will pony up the rest.

Re: picture time, might make you cry

The shame is your co worker is going to get screwed on premiums whether they pay you 680 or 6000. I don't think 680 even covers materials. If your co worker was paying out of pocket I would say great, but since his premiums are going to increase over 680 bucks, you both got screwed. Anyway, sweet looking truck, I like it better mangled up anyway, it says don't park within 10 feet of me.

Re: picture time, might make you cry

agree with above, I got rear-ended a few months back in my '70. Bent the rear bumper and the passenger side bracket, no damage to the bedsides. I got almost $800 out of Prgressive.

Re: picture time, might make you cry

This, after much arguing with the State Farm adjuster, got me a little over $2100.
