voltage regulator green wire ??

On the bottom of the voltage regulator is a big, green wire. What does this wire do? I want to demo the voltage regulator

That went to a noise suppresor (condenser).
You don't need it.
The big green wire ABOVE it goes to the horn.
Don't confuse the two.
