longbed or shortbed?????

i've got a 64 longbed, its bagged and lays frame. i cant decide on whether to cut the bed down into a shorty or keep it long. i love both but im leanin' a little more towards the shorty. any pros cons that will aid me in this decision? hahah

pictures of shortbeds laying frame or close to it would be cool too!

Re: longbed or shortbed?????

I dont wanna start a rift in the boards or insult anyones style. there are so many amazing short beds out there. but I was at a local show and all the short bed trucks i saw looked too short, almost toy like for me. I like my longbed. but i may be biased haha

Re: longbed or shortbed?????

For what it's worth, I agree with ghostwhite, the short beds just dont have the right proportions, but the long beds can be a pain to park. Maybe you can go Jesse James on us make a custom length, use photoshop to figure out what has the best proportions. Just my 2c

How bout I give you the 20" I cut out of mine and you can add it on to yours. The old super schlong bed. Jason would love it. The double, extra schlong bed. That would be unique.

Re: longbed or shortbed?????

well i guess with a long bed, to cut it down to a short bed you would need to take out 12 inches in front of the wheel, and 8 inches after. so im thinking probably 8inch in front, 4 inches behind????

See what ya got started here SixFour....... By the way, there is a photochop section on the main forum page. Someone could probably do it to the truck.

Re: longbed or shortbed?????

How would that be different? Keeping a longbed long is what the majority of 60-66 truck owners are currently doing. Different would be lengthening a short bed, which does not seem to be a popular idea.
