Engine Transplant Complete, She Lives!
Well, I finally got my new engine over to my house and dropped her in, got all of it hooked up, cranked it, as soon as gas made it to the engine she fired straight up and purred like a kitten! It feels so good to hear the truck run!
All that's left to do is switch the linkage that hooks to the manifolds from my old engine to this one. This engine came from a truck with a cable linkage and mine has a metal rod linkage. Looks to be easy enough and I'll get on that as soon as I get back from my "treasure hunt" tomorrow. I got a line on a guy that supposedly has a shed completely filled with parts for our trucks, everything from fenders to gauge clusters. He used to restore the trucks 10 years ago and said that everything he collected and has, has been in storage the last ten years ago. Said he doesn't remember 90% of the stuff he has and that if he doesn't just give it to us free, he'll sell it super cheap. So I'm hoping to come home with some goodies as I'm going over there with cash and a trailer at 10 tomorrow morning. Here's a video of right after I fired her up!

Re: Engine Transplant Complete, She Lives!
So how many miles did you rack up on her so far?
Engine sounds good. I can't wait for mine to have a sound coming from the engine compartment.

Re: Engine Transplant Complete, She Lives!
I'm swapping the linkage and driving her today! I just got back from picking up a five hole gauge cluster, nos tailgate trim, and two hub caps, all for free. I'll put pictures up later.

Re: Engine Transplant Complete, She Lives!
Forgot to mention I also snagged a rubber floor mat, never used, for free as well. I'm pretty psyched. The guy was really cool, had a house he built himself on a sloping hill with a pond at the bottom, and a clone of the car from the movie "Christine" the car was mint!
Took the truck around the block today and she runs like a champ, no sputtering, hesitating, knocks or anything. I let my dad drive it, he punches it and my fuel line decided to pick something up from the bottom of the tank lol. So tomorrow I'm pulling the tank and checking where it could possibly be getting clogged at. As for my nice little score, here's the pictures! Anyone have any guesses as to how much that stuff is worth?
