Did a couple of simple mods tonight...
When I got home today it was like Christmas on the front porch. We've been agonizing over some tough decisions so I needed to get my mind off of things and do some truck therapy. These are the best mods I've done for the money on this truck so far:
1) My truck is an LS so I had a plastic steering wheel with cruise control but no audio controls. Picked up a leather wheel with cruise and audio controls on EBAY for $56 shipped two days ago, it came today . Install was simple quick, now I have audio controls at my fingertips and the feel of a leather wheel. 2) Installed a corvette servo. Install should have been easy but it seems like whenever I touch transmission fluid I lose my head. Well it wasn't that hard just messy and it took me awhile to remove an o-ring and replace the snap ring on the cover. Finally got it in though and man was it worth the whole $15. First trip down the road and I nearly crapped my pants when I grabbed second gear at WOT and laid down a little patch with a chip Next mod is a Comp Cams 212/218 .522/.529 cam.

So the Corvette servo wasn't too bad eh? Been toying with doing that, but didn't want to mess around too much with it. $15 bucks, that was it?
What trans do you have in your truck? BTW, nice truck!

Do the servo, you won't regret it. It's simple in principle, just difficult to maneuver. The truck has a 4L65E, just a later version of the 700R4 and 4L60E...
Thanks!

Steering wheel looks good man! I always love that feeling that a chirp in second gear gives you!

Re: Did a couple of simple mods tonight...
Truck looks great did you upgrade the valvebody or just install the servo. I had a local tranny guy install a shift kit in my 07 and now it has a 2nd to 3rd gear flare when driving normal. It shifts ok under full throttle but not much better than stock. He says something is wrong with my tranny but it did not do this before. He has been in it again to make shure every thing was installed correctly and he still says tranny has a problem. Luckily I know the transmission guy at the local Chevy dealership and he said he would fix it under warranty.

just the servo, nothing else. I don't want to mess with the tranny other than maybe a cooler. Good thing yours is going to be fixed under warranty!
