SBC 327 Engine Swap in 82' C10 SWB

Has anyone ever swapped a 327 into their square body? I am looking at a 327 that needs a rebuild to throw in my 82'. How much work am I looking at and what will I have to change (i.e. radiator, motor mounts)? I am currently running an Olds 260 / TH350 set up. I believe the truck still has the original motor mounts and radiator from its 250 6 cyl days (hence the swap to the Olds 260). Thanks in advance for all of your help

Re: SBC 327 Engine Swap in 82' C10 SWB

It's not different than any other SBC swap. The Olds 260 weird motor to have a in truck. I'm assuming the truck was originally a diesel and that one was dropped in when the diesel blew up. You might consider an Olds 403 if the transmission is in good shape. These were put in a ton of cars in the late 70's. This would basically bolt in place of what you have.

Re: SBC 327 Engine Swap in 82' C10 SWB

Thanks Pyrotechnic. The car was originally a 250 6 cylinder Canadian made truck. I had the opportunity to try and get a 403 about a month ago off of Craig's List but someone beat me to the punch. I am still on the look out for an Olds of Chevy motor. I have a body that has a couple of 400 SBC's that I am trying to talk into selling me one..................
