Oh boy you kinda asked a questions that has various answers. exactly what are you looking to get out of your stereo? Do you just want something to listen to, or do you want to disturb the neighbors on the other side of town? You'll need different components for various levels of your stereo set up.

You see nothing is worth anything till you do something to it.

Re: Sound System, How Does It Work?

Such an open ended question, kinda makes it hard to asnwer.

Check this thread for some absic information.

Know this; once you start building stereo systems it can get very addicting very quickly. Someday mine will be redone for a third time and each time runs somewhere in the 3-5K range. The next redition should run somewhere in the 7k range, and that won't even stop people at alot of shows. Some of the real show stopping system that I see run well into the 10's of thousands. I've also had the privilage to do a little work on a $35k system. The guy ripped it all out 6 months later, said he wanted it bigger, better, and louder.

Re: Sound System, How Does It Work?

if you`re paying retail for everything... spending 10k isn`t that much in spl. then factoring in install and tunning etc.. helps to have your own term lab.. that`s probably a little more than you`re gonna go... but it`s not cheap...

you`ll need a head, couple subs, amps, i`d run components in all four corners.. and a good alt... caps are gay.. stay away from those.. otehr than that.. little list, look at these, pick any of them and you`ll be happy.

subs

RE
Fi
DD
T3
Soundstream
Kicker
Atomic
Shocker
American Bass
Memphis
Cactus Sounds

amps

American Bass
Soundstream
Memphis
DD
Catcus Sounds
Atomic
Hifonics
Earthquake
Powerbass
Crossfire
E audio
SPL dynamics
Adassa Audio
Autotek
MMATS
Orion
