Re: gonna find out my rear end ratio....
It's dead simple. I have done it a lot of times. Jack one wheel up off the ground. Leave the other side on the ground. Now, turn the wheel two complete turns and however many turns the driveshaft makes is your ratio.

Bottom line is that the "counting the spins" is great if you are looking to buy a truck and want to know if it's a posi and about what the gearing is. If you have already popped the cover, then checking the numbers on the ring gear is the sure thing. The last 2 sets of numbers (4 numbers total) is the pinion teeth and the ring gear teeth. If it says 10 41...the pinion has 10 teeth and the ring gear has 41. 10 into 41 is 4.10 and that is the ratio. |

Re: gonna find out my rear end ratio....
Its very easy ! Look at the numbers on the side of your ring gear. I see in your pic that it is 41 10. take 41 and devide it by the 10 and you get a 4.10 gear ratio. If in the future the ring gear does not have these numbers then just count the teeth on the ring gear and the teeth on the pinion gear and devide the smaller number in the larger number and that will give you your answer.
