Bypass Heater Core

My heater core is shot and I'm thinking about ways to bypass it till I decide what I'm gonna do on the HVAC side of things. Rather than mess with the plumbing on my intake, can I just connect the inlet hose to the outlet hose?

Re: Bypass Heater Core

You can do that, but I would just plug the intake and water pump.

Re: Bypass Heater Core

Ya the hoses are different sizes.
Buy the two plugs and screw em in.

Once I put a smaller hose inside the two hoses and used a bunch
of ring clamps to hold it all. It never leaked for years, but the plugs are better.

Do you have heat and AC? I know that when I pulled my unit off of my truck, I marvelled at the bits and pieces. I think I'm gonna go with aftermarket, now. Too much work to do on the firewall, and aftermarket is too clean.

Nope. I'd have to replace at least the compressor, heater core, blower motor and the control unit to get it up and running again. So, like you, I'm thinking more and more about aftermarket.
