Got carb installed but.....(pics)

Installed my new carb today and ran some fuel line. the guys at the speed shop tell me that the fitting off of the mechanical fuel pump is 3/8" Funny thing it won't take the 3/8" fitting, seems to be just a bit too big for the threads on the pump. I was wondering if these stock mech fuel pumps come in any other outlet size beides 3/8". Could it even be a metric thread?

that is a brake line fitting are you trying to put a pipe fitting in?

Go get a 3/8" brake line with the nuts on it. It will have the proper thread.

oh man! Yea, I was using a 3/8" pipe thread. Now how do I make the connection from the fuel pump to my 3/8" fuel hose using brakeline fittings?.....thanks guys!

you'll want to get a 3/8 brake line and a tubing bender. Run steel pipe as much as you can. Rubber is not the best thing in a hot to cold vibrating environment

hey thanks all. sounds like a great idea longhorn man. I'll run steel brake line from the pump up to my fuel filter. was kind a uneasy about using rubber down the front of the block like that. Thanks for the advice. I'll use as much steel as I can!
