What year is my truck ?

ok now I am confused. I thought I bought a 1969 GMC but now it looks like it is a 1970? These are the numbers I found:
CS10C-TA11188 on the door frame
CS1570C in the glove box
On the frame near the steering box TA111
Anyone know what I bought?
Thanks

Re: What year is my truck ?

Well they changed the GMCpaul decoder. It dosen't include 70-72 anymore. It looks like its a 69 due to the A in the 7th digit. It used to have all the years on it. I decoded my 69 and it showed the O for the Canadian plant. Now that is gone.

Re: What year is my truck ?

C= 2 WHEEL DRIVE
S= INLINE 6
1= GVW (3,900-5,800)
0C= MODEL TYPE 67-70 STEPSIDE
T= TERRYTOWN
A= 1969
11188 VEHICLE NUMBER

i AM NOT SURE WHICH ONE I WOULD GO WITH, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE EASIER TO CHANGE OUT A GLOVE BOX DOOR THAN A CAB OR VIN PLATE. WHATCA GO UNDER THE HOOD?

IF YOU GO TO LMC TRUCK . COM ON PAGE 6 ( I THINK) THE CAN A VIN DECODER.
HOPE THIS HELPS

Re: What year is my truck ?

Hi
It has a 350/350 I am not sure what the engine has had for mods but it does have a performer intake with a 1403 Edelbrock carb which I need to rebuild. The truck must have been sitting as there is rust on the plugs. I got it running pretty good right now but have a bigger radiator and tach coming for it. I hope to paint it this winter the blue has faded at different rates. I am not sure the scheme or colors yet still looking for ideas. Thank you for your help decoding my Vin

NO PROBLEM, I WOULD DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG SO YOU COULD USE IT FOR REFERENCE, THE MOTOR CASTING NUMBERS ARE EASY TO FIND AND THERE ARE A TON OF SITES THAT CAN DECODE IT FOR YOU TOO. JUST GOOGLE 350 CASTING NUMBERS. WRITE DOWN EVERY NUMBER YOU FIND ON THE block OF THE MOTOR AND BRING IT INSIDE AND SIT DOWN AT THE PUTER FOR A FEW HOURS UNTIL YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU KNOW AS MUCH AS YOU CAN FIND OUT ABOUT THE MOTOR.

Re: What year is my truck ?

I did do some research on the engine on the front of the block it has V1018TJB which corresponds to

V= Flint
10= Oct
18= Day
TJB=1973 350 used in C10 - 3500
Also
1979 350 4X4 C-30 - 3500
On the back of the block it has
397010
That shows the block was used 1969 -1979 Any more info you have would be appreciated
Thanks!
