Now no 1st or reverse??
On a previous post, I had problems with the shifter getting stuck (3 on the tree,) and with help from this great forum figured I need bushings. Well after yanking on the linkage from under the hood to get it free, something we always do to get it working again, Now I cant get the truck into 1st or reverse. I can only get 2nd and 3rd?? Did I knock my shifter out of whack when pulling on the linkage? Do I need to readjust something? Also which position do I need on the linkage on the Saginaw 3 speed, so I can at least back it out of the driveway. If I can at least crawl under the truck and manually do that I can get it to an area to work on it. Thanx in advance for the replies.

Had the same thing happen on my 53' Belair: Little knuckle in the junction box broke loose from the shaft - had to disassemble it and have it brazed back together.
