I probably shouldn't mention it because it's by no means "stable", but the last three I've done have been with 2 stacked 2x6's balanced on the top of my cherry picker boom (stuck through the window of the cab) and resting on the tops of the doors...
 When I get around to it, I'll build something that actually attaches to the cherry picker vs. balancing on it. In a pinch, however, this method has been successful for me.
