What had to be done to the heads to make them work on a 396? Were they milled?

The heads were milled, the block was decked, and I believe it has domed pistons to get the compression up.

No it does not. It was built by a professional local engine shop who can be trusted. We have had them do several things for us and they always do a great job.

Been watching since post #1. Money is tight, I need an engine, if its still here in February and I have the money, I would do it if the ride to Austin wont cost an arm and a leg.
Only rub for me is I would need a new tranny and a lot of diff parts since mine is a SBC, but thats more my issue than yours. |

TTT for ya! I agree $2,900 is a good deal... I spent $4000 on my 72 402 BBC 6 or so years ago! best of luck!
