New from Washington State
Hey there.. first time to this forum.
We're receiving my wife's late father's 1967 4wd pickup next month. All I have to do is go pick it up. It's a 4wd, manual, with no power options. My hope is to find a donor 2wd truck, auto, with power options and transfer the body from one frame to the other. Make it a more user friendly truck so other family members other than myself can drive it too. Looking forward to this forum as well as working on a classic truck with so many aftermarket parts available. I some how have to squeeze this in among my other projects... but we'll get there. Butch Washington State. |

Re: New from Washington State
Welcome from Central Wa.
To keep the trucks personality and heritage why not just swap the trans and transfer to an automatic trans and matching transfer. Then swap in a power steering box. To change it to two wheel drive would make it a totally different truck in my estimation. It's rather like the old story about Abe Lincoln's ax. Here is Abe Lincoln's ax that he used to split fence rails. We had to change the handle three times and the head twice, but it is Abe's old ax. That said, I know where there might be a couple of fairly complete chassis. One a 69 and one a 71 or 71 both long beds. |
