Swapping AC out...

My truck was originally an AC truck, but with the install of my headers I lost room for the AC compressor, thus I'm now AC-less (which doesn't matter much to me because I don't use AC in any of my vehicles anyways, and my truck isn't an optioned survivor or anything.)

My best friend's Dad wants my AC box (the one attached to the firewall...not sure of the official name for it...) in trade for his non-AC box (so I can retain heating abilities in the winter).

Is there a DIY on how to do this? and how involved it may/may not be?

Thanks in adv. guys!

Re: Swapping AC out...

The firewall is different for A/C versus non A/C cabs, so you can't swap them without modifying the firewall. You'll need to drop the inner fender to get the last bolt at the bottom of the box if removing it.

cig-lighter powered space heater. Yay.

I might just keep it in for now as I don't know if I can convince somebody of doing some sheetmetal work and modify the firewall to work, just need to find a way to tidy up the unused AC hoses.
