Attention Needed Quickly - S10 Purchase!
i am planning in looking into buying a 1983 Chevrolet S10 to use for my 1953
S10 swap............my wheelbase of my 1953 GMC is 124".....the wheelbase of the S10 i am looking at is a regular cab short box.....i know this means i will need to cut my bed down some to make it work but that will be no problem.....will this option be worth it? the owner made me a great offer.......is it an offer worth taking though? i had wanted to grab a V6 5 speed manual......this truck is a V6 automatic...will this cause any un-noticed problems??? Quick reply would be most appreciated!! 53GMC Last edited by 53GMC; 08-11-2009 at 05:41 PM. |

I've read that a standard cab long bed is the best fit. I guess you can use the short bed frame and lengthen it to fit. I wouldn't shorten your bed.

Would have to know condition of s10 and what you plan to use off of it. but is all you nee is frame get it and lengthen it to fit your body. I think if you cut that much out of your bed then if would look kinda funny. It may not though. Thats the thing about building it do it the way you want and feel comfortable doing it.

Re: Attention Needed Quickly - S10 Purchase!
so what youre saying is that i can use the frame and just lengthen it would i be lengthening the front of the frame of back of it?????.....the S10 is a keeper....yall just let me know what yall think....i value and trust everyone's opinion
the only question i have is the wheelbase difference......that wouldnt affect my line up of the fenders and the bed even if i had to lengthen the frame right? |
