Anyone know if V8 4X4 crossmember can work in a straight 6 application... any modification?

if i remember correctly, a 250 will work with the stock v-8 crossmember but not a 292.

Thanks for the response guys. Its not for me but a board guy, he was looking for a straight 6 one in the classified. I didn't want to give him the wrong info or part (he would be out shipping $$ to the left coast), might be expensive!
Would the engine stands work as well?
