How to remove door panels
Hi all,
I did a search on this and found a vague answer. can someone be more secific on how to do this? My main problem is removing the window crank and the door pull. In the thread I saw it said to get a specific tool and it will pry and release some kind of clip? I have those hard plastic pry tools for interiors do I was wondering if i could use those. One guy said he used a butter knife. If it matters mines a 71 c-10. Thanks for your help Last edited by El_Crnicero; 08-21-2009 at 03:11 AM. |

Re: How to remove door panels
Check LMC on their door components page 18. Part #26 illistrates what you need. Bought mine at NAPA. My handle tool didn't work recently cause po mangled the clips. I bent a small nail to hook on to it. Used my pliers to hang onto the nail. Tricky and frustrating job.

Re: How to remove door panels
The door panel tool works well. I have also used a small hook tool. You can also use a piece of a rag and let it snag the ends of the clip, then pull the rag and the clip will come with it.

Got mine from Eastwood, I believe, but you really need the correct tool to do it right and not scratch up or mangle the door panels.

Re: How to remove door panels
the door handle tool is way to cheap and saves way too much hassle not to have one.

Re: How to remove door panels
You can get them off many ways but the tool is cheap. We sell tools for that and its a quality piece of sheetmetal for $3.99 or cheaper in quantities of 5 or more
