Re: one piece windows
Ok, a little of an update. Was able to align the guide to more upright position which put the glass more inline with the window frame. It also allows the window to sit comfortably in the center of the opening, needing a little effort to operate.

Re: one piece windows
efabman,
looks good !! I had to do a little tweak here and there to get everything to work like I wanted them to. It will all fall into place. It ain't a HOTROD if you don't have to tweak it every now and then !!! |

Re: one piece windows
Yes but I hope they never need tweaking after the scrubbers are glued in, especially over new paint. Maybe there should be more than just two choices when it comes to one piece windows for these trucks. This "kit" with the doors we're using (four OE total) so far has required way more than tweaking, like serious design considerations. However, I will say the look is nice. I will keep the install posted till its complete and show what was done here. So far nowhere close to a bolt in "kit". Do you have pictures of your "during" install?

Re: one piece windows
I had the OPP windows and they were one of the biggest POS kits I've ever seen or dealt with. I spent 10 hours wrestling with one side and still couldn't get it to operate correctly. Nothing and I mean nothing went right with them ,the glass did not fit the opening correctly, they wouldn't roll down without forcing them, and the door stop worked as if it were designed by Mickey Mouse! I ended up sending them back and using the factory stuff.
I do paint and body for a living and am extremely familiar with tearing doors down and rebuilding them and still could do nothing to get my kit to operate correctly.

I'll say I have to agree. They may be great if you never roll them down or once you get them down, leave them down. Just because someone puts your product in a magazine doesn't mean its any good. |

Re: one piece windows
I agree the kits do leave some to be desired, but remember that we are trying to "adapt" pieces to the door components and trying to get them something they were not originally designed to do. IMO, If I had to do it again I probably would just stay with the factory set-up. Mine works good, but not as smooth as factory setup. Just my opinion.
