Vent window help!
Howdy,
I'm trying to put in a vent window on my 85 C-10. Emphasis on "trying". I ended up getting the main window off the track and then spent the next hour or two trying to get the window back on track. No luck. So now I have nothing in the door. Just hoping it does not rain. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. what to do first etc.... Many thanks in advance! pjdee |

Re: Vent window help!
I'll be doing this in the next week or so, but from what I've read, the door glass didn't have to come out, at least I hope that's the case.

Re: Vent window help!
k i will try and explain how i used to do it but it,s been awhile.First of all remove the bolts from the back track and then roll down the window slide it all the way towards the back of the door this will give you enough room to slide the new vent window into the door once you get that in and bolted down just slide the window into the vent window track put the rear track back in place making sure the window is sitting in it tighten bolts and thats it.I used to be able to transfer the whole guts in about 15 minutes on one of these doors

Re: Vent window help!
if you have knocked it out the track it,s hard to get back in without the rear channel being loose or have you have knocked it off the regulator track then

Re: Vent window help!
Well I got it all back together, just needed to step away
for awhile and then it seemed to go smoothly if you ever get a window off the tracks lower the regulator as far as you can it will allow you get the rollers in the right places. Like they say "experience is the best teacher, the problem is it gives the test first and the lesson later." Thanks again for all those who chimed to help me out! |
