Are you sure it's a 3-speed manual and not a 4-speed with a granny low? The shifter on my SM465 says L-1-2-3 so I can see how that could be confusing.

The only 3-speed manual I know of is the old Saginaw one from the late 60's & early 70's cars and I thought they quit using it long before the 80's.
