Need some help. How low can I go with 275/60/R15s?

I just picked up my orig. 15" Rally wheels with 275/60/R15s. I need to know how low in the front and back I can lower my SWB without rubbing or any other problems. Thanks for any help you got.

Re: Need some help. How low can I go with 275/60/R15s?

The rear can go as low as the rear axles setting on the frame or a bolt in c-notch.
The front is the problem. I would say a 4" drop would be the max with a 275/60.
I normally use a 6.5" or 7" in ralley wheel up front with a narrower tire.
My '69 has a 5.5" front drop with 7" ralleys.

with that low of profile tire you have to go low for it to look right. good rule of thumb is top of tire is to be even with top of fender well

Thanks for the replies. Any one have a pic of their truck with a drop and these size tires? I looked through the forum and came up with too many threads.

Thanks, Brian.

If you going for a static drop you might want to use a smaller tire on the front.I am running Goodyear eagle Gt11 p235/60r15 in front and p275/60r 15 Goodyear eagle RH on the rear which gives a great old school look.

If I remember correctly,See Ten`s red`72 was running that size mounted on 8" rallyes on all four corners with a 4/6 drop.I`m pretty sure that`s a common combination.

Re: Need some help. How low can I go with 275/60/R15s?

I was running 245/60/R15 up front on my 3.5/5 static drop. Did not have any problems. Got a great deal recently on CL and am running 275/60/R15 on all corners.

I have experienced some rubbing on country/bouncy roads.

Having 275/60/R15 on all corners is nice for tire rotation but I really liked the way it looked when it had the 245/60/R15 on the front and will go back to them when I am done with these tires.

Heres mine. I'm running 235/70/15 all around. No rubbing. Bagged.
