Re: any good header paint out there?

I've never seen any "spray bomb" paint that worked on headers that lasted longer than a few days.

Re: any good header paint out there?

The old VHT stuff works well ( I think it is now Mr Gasket or whatever Summit calls it now) BUT you HAVE to follow the directions to a T, the whole deal- sandblast, wipe clean w solvent -DO NOT TOUCH it w your bare hands!, Use plastic gloves. The oil in your skin will mess up the whole thing. Then cure per directions on the can. I used to have the same troubles until I actually did the whole routine including the warm up curing steps. I have a set painted white on a BBC car and they look great after 6 years w some yellowing around the ports is all.

x2...

YOU MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY! from prep to cure... it's easier if you have an electric oven that they will fit in

Re: any good header paint out there?

crazy idea just popped in my head how about the black paint wood stove since it's made for wood stoves it should be heat resistant, but aren't most stoves cast iron...just a crazy idea to throw out there.
