ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
has anyone ever done this or have any input on how it would look i found a hell of a deal on these wheels and from what i can find they will bold right up and might require a spacer. i searched for a few minutes and found alot of trucks running the old style rally wheel but none running these and didnt know if that meant it was a bad idea or not
the wheels the truck

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
I don't remember see anyone running the late model Vette rims. the major problem I see is that these rims have a HUGE backspace. our trucks normally utilizes a rims with a 4 to 5 inch back space. but those rims look like they have a HUGE offset.

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
yes they do have a huge offset and will not fit our trucks seeing they are 4.75 bolt pattern

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
Yes it can be done. I have this pic saved from several years ago. Don't know who it belongs to but it looks to have a Vette type wheel on it. No doubt used spacer/adapters to bolt them up and spaced them out so far. It does look good.

I think you're right French. I think Wes said this guy dropped by his place and he snapped the pic. I'll bet it has a TPI engine in it too.

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
There's absolutely, positively no way that those will fit your '71 and I think that you should PM me with the contact info so that I can put them on my El Camino.
JK, I think that with adapters, those wheels would look great on your truck.

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
yes, the truck pattern is 5x5, the vette wheels are 5x4.75. Adapters/spacers for that conversion is pretty common, or you could redrill the rotors and axles and go that route. Either way you'll need a spacer to get the wheels out flush with the fenders so they'll look right. A spacer/adapter combo looks to be the way to go. just my .02

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
I think the wheels with no dish belong on some sporty cars or fwd cars. Personally I like a wheel with a decent sized dish on a classic truck or car...Double checked your original post before hitting enter...you did ask for opinions, this is just mine =)

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
I personaly don't like the way they look, but thats just me. Make sure with adapters and spacer that the wheel doesn't stick too far out, makes of look like a turtle which looks terible. There's lots of mexicans where I live that does just that and it ruins the look of any car or truck

Re: ET 56 Corvette ZR1 Wheels on a 71
Before you jump on that great deal, you better price the correct adapters. Your bargain won't look so cheap any more.
Besides the expensive adapters, the tires your going to need aren't going to be cheap either.
