Wanting to make LWB 1970 to SWB!!
I have a 1970 c10 2wd with the long wheel base, where or what is the degree of difficulty of shortening the frame to make it the much more desired short wheel base?

Re: Wanting to make LWB 1970 to SWB!!
Welcome to the board. Before you cut it up....consider what you're going to use the truck for....plus, there are many that are leery of cut frames if you ever go to sell the truck so don't necessarily expect SWB money. Also consider that a LWB will ride better. Finally, the recent trend I have noticed is that longbeds are becoming more popular...I'm sure it's a combination of the fact they can be had cheaper, they are different, and they just look so darn good when they are dropped...
Whatever you decide to do, welcome to the board....you've found an excellent place to learn.

Re: Wanting to make LWB 1970 to SWB!!
The solution there is to do it correctly, and document the process. If you have clear pictures showing quality work, most "truck guys" know this doesn't diminish the value.

Cutting the frame is only half the battle. You can also cut the bed itself down. That takes a little more time/effort.

Here's the easy way to shorten a frame
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=361929 Unfortunately for you the distance on this one is the killer.
