I just bought a 67-68 truck tilt column all rebuilt with new everything for $232.50 from Ebay. No shipping since I can pick it up. Was this an ok deal?

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
no such thing as 67-68 tilt column, didn't start until 70, looks to be real thing from picture, but has van turn signal lever and tilt lever on it, so it may be van column cut down especially since they did not show the splined end of the shaft, vans are about 4 inches long trucks are about 1.5 inches long.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
Here's a better pic showing the 1.5 inch shaft. Must be a cut down van column.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
Looks to be a good deal, even if it is a van conversion. It does the same thing a "truck" tilt does.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
That is a good deal even if it is a van column.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
If it`s rebuilt that`s a good price for a van tilt.A used truck tilt is worth more in good used condition.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
Picked up the tilt tonight and it is awesome, like new. Seller owns a restoration shop in Escondido and told me he bought it from the Truck and Car Shop in Orange for a customer's build he was doing but the owner of the truck (the customer) stiffed him on bills and so everything was lien saled. Truck and Car Shop charges $650 for this bad boy in their catalog. Seller then points to a couple of big boxes of stuff and tells me I can buy whatever I want for half off whatever the Truck and Car Shop catalog says. I tell him I will need a minute to calm down and think. Told him my wife will kill me if I buy all this stuff. I bought about $300 worth of stuff for $150. Got new outside door handles, rear view mirror, weatherstrip, misc switches, door striker plates, tailgate hinges, trunions, door relay control, park light lenses, etc. Paid for the column in cash and put the $150 on the credit card. Hopefully, it will all slide by and the wife won't catch me.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
Yeah, it was great for me, but I felt bad for the guy. He has zero customers, laid off all his workers and is selling off his personal car collection: 69 Camaro, El Camino, Cuda, Cadillac, etc. I saw some of his work and it seems pretty good. There are just not enough people wanting to pay to have someone restore their car/truck out there right now. Tough times.

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
I would say you got a great deal whether it is a van tilt or truck tile. I paid more for a non-rebuilt truck tilt. Yours looks great ! So are you buying the 69 Camaro ??? or Cuda ???

Re: Good deal on tilt column?
Yeah, he told me I was "stealing" that tilt. Hey, he's the one that listed it with a low bid and no reserve. I wish I could afford more projects and that my wife would approve. I think the 67 396 Camaro and 68 C10 I have now are enough for the time being. My next one will be a 63-67 Vette or a Cobra kit car. Anyway, he was saying he is going to finish his 69 Camaro and sell it for $35K-$40K but it is nothing special, just a standard coupe. He's dropping in a big block but that does not automatically make it a $35K car, especially in this market. Also, his workmanship was not top notch. He'll be lucky to get $25K. He's got his 72 Caddy on Ebay right now. Bid's just got over $2,000. Nice car but who wants a 72 Caddy? He did not show me the Cuda, was in another building across the way. Now that is a car I would risk divorce to buy, assuming the price was right.
