Temporary bag setup help
soooo, within the next couple of weeks, or month, i want to bag my suburban. for now, since im unsure on my compressor and still waiting on my tank and gauges..i would like to put my bags in and use my house compressor to air it up and down to move it around. i have 4 airlift dominator 2600's, with 1/2" airline. i have 1/8" airline for my gauges. i did order a 5 gal tank and 3 gauges, but long story short the company i ordered from basically is out of business but still collecting money through paypal so im waiting on my $$ back, then ill order from suicide doors or avs. i need to know which fittings for the bags i need...and which fittings i need to run them to my airhose on my compressor? if i just put the bags in and it lays low, can i still move it around freely or am i going to have problems? i havent ordered any drop spindles yet so it will just be sd cut down cups. rear will just be bags since i havent gotten my blocks and notch yet. any help or advice appreciated!

Re: Temporary bag setup help
Well since you dont have a tank, then you will need to run it with schrader valves
You can get them at your local parts store or hardware store (I get mine from ACE Hardware) You need one for each bag & you need a reducer to attach them to your air line fittings As for the fittings you need, get the "quick disconnect" style, as ferrel fittings will leak The front you will want like a 45* or strait & in the rear you will want 90* fittings, then for your schrader valve ends you will want straits Here is a lil list from SD Strait X4 45* X2 90* X2 Schrader Valves And you will need four 1/2" to 1/8" reducing couplers They have some that are thin brass, dont get those as they will crack easy & leak, either get some thick brass ones or get the lead pipe or something good & thick Good luck |

Re: Temporary bag setup help
ok, im gonna order them today. so how would I fit all this together? I know I put the 2 45's in the front and 2 90's in the back, but where do the straights go and reducers? and also why do I get 1/2" to 1/8" reducing couplers? is there any way to run the front 2 bags to 1 shrader valve so I can air up the front at once?

Re: Temporary bag setup help
i am about to do the same thing.
dom 2600's temp inflated until i can install the rest of the system. i bought shrader valves at a mom and pop auto store. they are 1/8" npt male. i bought some quick connect fittings from fastenal. i am using 3/8" line. i bought a 1/8" female npt - 3/8" tube connector fatenal #450694 $7.46 ea. and i bought 1/2" male npt - 3/8" tube 90 deg swivel fittings fastenal # 443084, they only come in a 5 pack for $31.50. compare that too SD. chances are you have a fastenal around you and you can get free shipping to the store. |

Re: Temporary bag setup help
I use a ball valve with a air hose fitting instead of the schrader valve, you don't have to hold it together while it fills & it fills much faster.

Re: Temporary bag setup help
this is how i want to run my front bags, and my rear bags. i know the 45 or 90 degree fittings would go in the bags, then snap the airline in, but which fitting is the one in the middle connecting the 2 sides (in the pic)? can i run it like this? the yellow things are the fittings, and the one in the middle connecting the 2 is the one i need to get also but i dont know the name. is it a t connection?

Re: Temporary bag setup help
You do not want to connect the two sides. You will have problems with air transfer going around corners and it will ride like poop.

Re: Temporary bag setup help
That set-up would be fine for "just moving it around". Beyond that, use independent schrader valves to get you by for now.

Re: Temporary bag setup help
ya, its not to ride on. I move the truck a maximum of like 30 feet to mow the grass, and then back. so what fitting is the one in the middle? I know it will be a schrader valve, but what do I get to connect the 2 airlinesto the schrader? I know, im an idiot when it comes to fittings lol

Re: Temporary bag setup help
Ok, I didn't realize that. You can run a T-fitting with a schrader valve on it.

Re: Temporary bag setup help
so 2 45 degree ones, 2 90 degree ones, 2 tees, 2 schrader valves? the airline plugs straight into the t or does something go into the t for the airline to plug into?
