Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
I have to replace my fuel tank on the Blazer. No help for it... I'm going to replace with a steel replacement but the filler tube has to be exchanged from the old to the new. Mine is rusted around the end and if I trim the bad spot out (shorten) it will be right on the bend. Yeah it will probably leak. I know that this will be a hard find, as no on likes cutting up gas tanks. But hey... gotta try!
Thanks, David

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
Will JBWeld hold up under gas? Since ya gotta cut it off, you could braze or solder it

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
I can make it work, one way or another. I'm just particular about repairs like this. I would like to just install a good filler neck on the repacement tank. Thanks for the suggestion though...

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
I have a tank I'm not going to use, but I don't think the fill tube is that long. I will check though. If it is, I'll hack it off for you.

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
Jimmy, If its the original tank it will look exactly like the one in the picture. If you would, could you cut the tank and not the filler tube (pictured). I will desolder and solder in the new tank. In the picture, the partial rubber hose is still attached to end. Thanks

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
I sent that exact same patch out to someone a few years back, it happens.

Huh, well what do you know? Make me an offer, and what is your time frame? I also need to make sure that the suburban tank I have won't need this, but I am pretty sure it won't.

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
Why not just cut it back and run a longer hose? Or am I missing something?
Edit: Oh, I should read closer... I' think it will be fine on the bend. Make up for not having the ridge to hold the hose anymore.

Re: Help: Looking for: Tank Filler Neck
D.Passmore - PM me if you're stuck. I got an old tank out back, but it's a long way from your part of the woods. The neck is about the only good thing left on it.

I've got one going to the trash can but I think the filler is good. PM me if nothing works out for you.
