Aftermarket dog dish center caps

Can someone confirm that the stock steel wheel size is 15X6.5 or somewhere around there. I have been looking for a set and found some.. but this was the measurement. I was hoping to find 15X7 or X8. I do believe these will work though.

Also does someone know where I can purchase aftermarket dog dish caps for my 69 c/10.

How did you measure the wheel width? You should be measuring inside the lip, from side to side. I believe the stock size original wheel was 15x5.5, but if you measure across the outside lip-to-lip it will be close to 6.5 inches wide.

Re: Aftermarket dog dish center caps

They make 15 x 8 steel wheels, but they hard as hen's teeth to find. I finally found a set of them for $75, so I gladly handed over the cash. The original wheels were 15 x 6". Also, there is no place that reproduces the dog dish hubcaps, you will have to find a set used or nos. Trevor

Re: Aftermarket dog dish center caps

Yeah, this is what I concluded to a year ago when I started looking. Kind of makes you wonder why though. Then again, now guys are wanting to go back original.

I have not purchased the wheels yet (better for another set gets away) but the seller says he measured from outside to outside edge. He said it was more like 6 5/8" to be exact. I do not know what stock was so was sort of asking that as well. They do make a 15X8 6 lug (I let a set get away) but was wondering what the stock size was. Do these look to small on a good sized tire. Was asing because I can get them or hold out and look for a 15x8 set. Of course the wider one might be better.

Re: Aftermarket dog dish center caps

the 8" wide are good up to a 12.50 width. The 6" wide wheels were the stock size width wheels for these years, and I believe would be fine to a 9.50 width tire. I wanted to find the 8"s for my 35-37" 12.50 width off road tires. Trevor
