any info appreciated

I was looking at a 68 1 ton dually that was for sale the other day, only problem is it needs rubber. Normally that is not a concern however this truck has 18" ols style stock wheels. Still has split rims front and back, but I have never seen 18" stock wheels on one of these. Is this very common? What would a set of 16.5's be worth? I priced out the 18's and it was $800.00 just for the rear.

I have a 72 1ton with 18" wheels. I would get some 16" new take offs (or something like that) Tires are cheaper and easier to get. Remember that your 68 will have 1/2" lug studs, not 9/16" like 71 and newer.

Stay away from the 16.5 if you can, they will cost as much as the 18s here in a couple more years.

get rid of the split rims unless ya have a death wish. 16s are the way to go jbut ya might want to keep the old rims hidden away for a full resto
