Greetings,
How hard should the heater blow? It does not seem to be moving much air. Could this mean the air side of the heater core is plugged up?

..with cdowns. I just took the heater box out of the '69 and it was full of mouse nests. They also chewed holes in the plastic blower fan...

The bad thing is you have to pull the inner fender down to get to a couple of the bolts/screws to get it apart. If it is a non a/c you can try pulling the blower assembly out and vacuum out that area. To do that you have to remove the hood hinge on that side. If you remove the hood hinge be sure to mark around the top and bottom with a sharpie so you can get it back in the same place.... Nothings easy..

or listen for the fan they wind up pretty good...if your not hearing it then maybe your heater fan relay is bad...

My two trucks don't move a lot of air either. Granted it's enough for the small cab but it's not like what you feel in cars or larger suvs. I think they are made specifically for smaller areas.

Another thing that may slow the fan down is the bushngs needing lubrication. Should be a post with a picture around somewhere where a member drilled a small hole through the enclosure to oil the fan.

There are 100 different things to check. The guys above have named off the major ones. I had a really bad problem getting mine grounded properly. At one point, I got pi**ed off and ran a huge gauge wire directly from the battery ground to the blower fan. That did the trick. (I later found a better ground closer to the fan, but that at least told me what the problem was).

Another thing to check is your switch. The stock switch is a 3 speed switch. Make sure you hear a difference in each "click". If not, it could be a switch issue.

If your truck is a non a/c truck, switch to an a/c fan motor. It will move more air.

With very few exceptions, virtually all my 1967 -1972 trucks have been big time air movers! If not, I first ensure the leaves, critters, etc. are cleaned out. Next thing to check is the fan motor. If you can hear it run, but you do not distinctly hear the different fan speeds, something is wrong. The primary culprits are the switch, the ground, or the fan motor itself is bad.
