Can't decide on a bed, any thoughts?
I am working on a 1971 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 and I have gotten the frame finished and have the body sitting back on the frame. I have a long box that is in great shape but now I am not sure if I want to use it. The purpose for the truck will be for both work and play. I was talking to a friend a few days ago and he has a 71 C/30 that came from the factory with a flat bed on it. He has since converted it to a dump bed and said that he would sell me the original flat bed for $100.00. This is what got me to thinking!!! Originally I was going to run about 10" of lift on the truck and a set of 38s or 40s. Now I think that it would still be cool to run the 10" lift and 38 or 40's but duall rear wheels and the flat bed. I would love to see any pics that you guys may have or hear your thoughts in reference to what I should do. Either way I think it will be a cool old pickup!

I would keep the fleet bed.
Flatbeds are cool, but I like fleet beds more.

If theres any chance your ever gonna carry loads that require a forklift to be used....you'll be glad you went with the flatbed!

There are a few members here who have flatbeds. One I am thinking of has a couple of 4wd flatbed trucks with tall rubber, big blocks and all. Yukon Jack maybe?
Yes Yukon Jack is the one. I ran across one of his posts and copied his link to some of his pics. 69 K20 with flatbed. http://www.yuk0njack.com/almostfinished.html And Leon is right, Joe's Junk has some nice dual wheeled flatbeds too.

Re: Can't decide on a bed, any thoughts?
Thanks for all the info. Just to let you know, I have now found a 69 GMC C/30 with a dump. Great looking truck and the guy only wants $1500.00 but he doesn't have a title and the motor is bad. STILL Thinking!
