question about patch panels...
ok i'm a little confused about the patch panels i need and the proper names for them.
my rear floor support under the cab is rotted out along with the cab supports. i know the inner rockers i need and some other stuff but the support things are screwing me all up. Tri Pro offers a rear cab support and also a rear cab floor support. i'm thinking the rear cab floor support is obviously under the corners of the floor that streach from the cab mount to the rockers. BUT what is the cab support? THEN they have a '67-'72 C/K CAB FLOOR OUTER REAR SECTION W/ BACKING PLATE, LH / RH ahhh all these choices look at this pic... i need the rear support that runs across the back of the cab.. but what is it called.

Re: question about patch panels...
Simplify it and buy the one piece floor with all of the supports and braces and new set of rockers. You may also need A and B pillar lower patches. I have done it by piecing it all together and on a truck that rusty I'd choose the one piece if I was doing it again

Re: question about patch panels...
i hear ya there. if i was building a full resto i would do it that way.
but most of the floor is in decent shape w/ the exception of the back sill, cab corners, supports and rockers. that stuff is fairly easy to fix or replace. oh and a whole new floor is $400 bucks and WAAAY more time to put it in.

Re: question about patch panels...
From what I see you need on the right side:
The rear cab support OE style. Yours is missing The Cab outer floor section that includes the backer The rear pillar panel Cab CornerFront door pillar Foot well OE style rocker Front cab support OE style And possibly Cab Floor brace Cab Floor pan Rear Floor cross member You will have to fab up some sheet metal for the rear area of the corner floor. That section only comes with a complete floor. Last edited by dwcsr; 10-16-2009 at 02:59 PM. |
