'71 Chevy 1/2 4x4
I've been eye ballin' '67-'72 trucks for a while now and today I finally got one.
I was talking to Oldiron after I got it and he said that I've finaly gone to the dark side. So I guess that makes him the emperor and I'm Darth Vader? But anyway I think it was a heck of a deal. I got it for $650. He had it listed on craigslist once before and he said that this time he lowered the price. Here is what I know about it so far: It's a 4x4 350 350 combo the body is in really good shape, though there is the "normal" rust here and there the original wheels are in the back of the truck also they are definitely going back on Here are some pix that I took with my cell phone. Not that bad if you ask me for how old my phone is. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'll keep posting as I do stuff to it.

Actually I was eying it when we pulled up. I guess the guy hardly drives it. It's to bad that one wasn't for sale.

I think I'm gonna keep it the way it is. I'm looking forward to a good fight, it's been a while. ;-) Thanks. I'll have to try to get down there some day.

Re: '71 Chevy 1/2 4x4
Yesterday was the big day, I went to get my truck. Everything was going well with the trailer that I borrowed from a buddy until we started to load up the truck. The guy I got the truck from said that one of my tires on the trailer was flat, and sure enough it was FLAT. Luckily he had an air compressor and we filled it up and finished loading up the truck. Unfortunately the tire had a small leak in it. He told me that there was a Les schwabs just in town, so we drove for it and the tire held. We get there, have them look at it only to tell me that they can't fix it and I need to get a new tire. Imagine that. I call my buddy that I borrowed the trailer from and he said just to try the fix-a-flat, that's what I was thinking also. So I did and it held for about 10 miles of a bumpy under construction road.
The tire blew out in front of a used car dealership. I walked over there to see if they might have a spare tire that I could buy from them. They didnt have an exact match, but it was close enough to use and only $10. Next challenge was finding a place that would mount it for me, and I mean challenge. I went to 4 or 5 different places to find someone that would mount the new used tire. Finally at around 5:30 pm I got to Midas and they hooked it up for FREE. Ya F les schwab. So after running around trying to get stuff figured out we were on the road again. I think that we finally got back to my house around 7:30 pm. Since the truck wasn't running I had to think of a was to get it off the trailer. My drive way is a slope, so I hooked a chain and come along up to my '51's axle and set the breaks on her. Good 'ol Agnus. Got the back wheels off and set some blocks and pulled the trailer out from under the front tires. That was the only thing that night that worked out smoothly. Of coarse I forgot to bring my camera and remembered after I got up there. But I did take a picture with my phone. I will take more pictures tomorrow and post 'em up asap. I know that my buddy that came with me to help doesn't get on here much but I'm gonna say thanks to him regardless. Thanks Josh for all your help.

Looks a little weird with that 73-80 front bumper, is this your first 67-72? Nice score!
