The rat in the beater.
The most expensive engine I have ever owned. A video of the Pontiac, turn the sound up as far as possible and you will get an idea of how loud it is with mufflers. |

Re: lets see some engines!
Butlers did the machine/head work. 330cfm CNC E heads, 270/272@.050 solid roller, 4.25" eagle crank, 6.800" eagle rods, Ross flat top slugs, MSD ignition, Victor/1050. Makes a touch over 700 hp on 92 octane, and a bit more on home brew ethanol, but I really want to raise the compression to around 13:1/14:1 to take advantage of the alcohol. I might just sell some projects and buy a 535 IAII short block that will net that much squeeze with the 87 cc heads.
Its going back in my 79 Formula Firebird this spring, then its a matter of getting the car upgraded for the 2 second ET drop, ie, certified cage, axles with C clip eliminators, electrical shut off switch, and a stall more suited to the engine. The shelf B&M couldnt hold it, it just blew right through it. Still made 522ftlbs at the wheels before any tuning with that POS converter. The GTO is getting another 455 I have been working on, since its already running ethanol. Currently it has a 9:1 455 that makes around 400hp, its getting a 550 hp 13:1 engine this spring, just as a cruiser. Since I make my own fuel, I can do this sort of thing and not worry about the price of gas. Last edited by Thumpin455; 01-20-2009 at 04:49 PM. |

Well here's mine.
She's a bit of a shed, just about everything needs some work on it from the wiring through to the nonexistant A/c or heater.
