fuel sending unit removal

Need some guidence on getting the sending unit out, I played with it a bit but almost bent part of it, any tips or tricks will be appreciated, thank you

Very easy. First remove your seat,next unplug the wire for the sending unit.
Next there is a lock ring you can use a screw driver on that holds the sending unit in. Lay the head of the flat head on the ring and tap it counter clock wise picking the screwdriver up and going to a differnt spot until the ring just pops out. Now just lift up on your sending unit and manuever it out of the tank. hope this helped......................

a brass drift is the prefered tool over a screwdriver. Less damage to the locking tabs and less sparks.

Probably want to have the cap off as well, pressure and a gaping hole dont mix...
