Hood latch question
Recently picked up a 68 and have a problem releasing the hood. When I looked at the latch assembly I noticed that the bar that you push up to release the hood hits against the upper grille preventing it from moving up far enough to fully release the hood.
I removed the assembly and was gonna replace it with one I took off a 69 but noticed that were the same. Is the 68 hood release assembly different than 69 and up? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I had this problem on a 67 and I removed the latch assembly(which you already did) then I chucked it up in a vise and bent the handle so it would clear.I think I used a cresent wrench to give me enough leverage to bend it.Then I reinstalled it and it worked great.Lube it while it's out.
