Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
It struck me as familiar. Maybe used in a few ads in Truckin' Mag.

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
ya know, now that you mention it, that truck had a "Truckin'" sticker in the side window along the bottom. It struck me as an odd place for a sticker that you'd normally see in the back window.

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
Congrats on your sale...and no flack here on the Ford..I had a 4" chop top unibody back in the early 80s and it was probably one of my funnest rides! And I saw a very rare wraparound rear window unibody last week....kinda made me want another one.

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
Well, prior to my dad buying a '69 chevy C/20 back in '79, he had a pretty nice '63 F-100 long bed unibody. Very unique truck, very stiff compared to a separate body/bed setup. As long as you keep a Chevy handy for WHEN the Ford breaks down, you should be ok!!

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
Seeing that empty spot in the garage makes me sad. I read your whole build thread (like a year ago I think) and your truck was the reason I am leaving the GMC a long bed. I loved the look of LONG & LOW. You did a really good job on it! Hate to see it go, and to answer the question on the f*rd, Iowa is a long way from Texas, you safe from any kicks from me.

Man Levi that is an amazing find in this state! It must have been in a barn? It is in really nice shape. It has some serious potential, congrats!

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
The shipper showed up today and loaded the old girl up. I tried to convince the guy to leave the V12 twin turbo Mercedes with me, but he declined [/QUOTE]
Did anyone not notice the 2010 Camaro there on the top ? That would fit just right in your garage

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
ohhh yeah. that car was sweet too. I have a bunch of pics of the under side.
I need to figure out what I'm gonna do this winter. I just found a garage that i will be renting 4 blocks from my house. it's 24x24 and i'll be moving my stuff there next weekend. I'm thinking about taking care of the bed stuff in the '50 first, then depending on if i get the ferd or not, bringing that down. If i don't, i may just do the hudson this winter. either way, i'm super stoked about getting a garage close to home. Now my wife can park in our garage, and I can still work w/o driving 2 hrs away. |

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
That's cool Levi! Congrats. That does suck having to drive to work on your projects. Are you still planning on leaving the 50 in Patina trim?

Re: Gonna live a rust free life in LA
yeah, i've pretty much decided to leave the '50 as is. I just want to pull all of the air stuff, wires and brake lines in the bed, sheet metal in everything nicely, and put it all back together. I'm also going to redo the rear bag mounts, and probably find a posi rearend.
Once that's done, i should have a plan for the Hudson defined. It will be nice only having to drive a few blocks to my new "shop" |
