55-59 stock seat, aftermarket column?

Hi All,

How many of you are running a stock bencj seat with an aftermarket or later Chevy column? If so what column are you using and what lenght column do you have? I've been trying to mock up my column but it seems to have a couple issues with it and before I rebuild it I'd like to see what others are using.

Thanks,
Sam

Anyone?

Or to make it easier, who's running a non stock steering column on a 55-59?

Re: 55-59 stock seat, aftermarket column?

I am running an 82 eldorado tilt telescope column on mine. I selected it because it is shorter that others so it does not extend into the engine compartment more than a couple of inches. Here is a link to my thread that deals with the column starting at post 105. I used Yukon third row seats and designed the mounts so they sit at about the same height as a stock seat. If you need it I have a diagram that shows the factory dimensions for the seat to dash, etc. I place my seat then adjusted the column for angle and depth. Having the telescope tilt column really helped.

Thanks OG, that helps, if you could send me a copy of that diagram that would be a huge help.

Thanks,
Sam
