DAMN! I got 4.10 gears!!
Shyeah. After weeks of waiting, I finally drove it today, and I got it up to 50mph, and at 50mph it was at right about 2500... Damn man, looks like I'll have to go down to 3.42's ASAP!

I don't think they are 4.10's...I have 4.10's and at 60 I am just above 3000 RPM's...I bet you have 3.73 gears.

If you really have 4.10's, and want 3.42's, then we should trade. I have 3.42's in my 78 and I want/need 4.10's. More speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since we're on the topic of rearends and rpm, just thought I'd ask. Does this sound right?
At approximately 60mph, my new tach is showing around 1500 rpm. This is with a: 305 700R4 tranny (in OD) 3.07 rearend LT235/75 R15 rubber BTW - I love the gas mileage |

Great, thanks Tim.
Now if only someone could tell me why my tach jumps around (between 1000 and 2000) when the engine is not under load (i.e. idling or coasting w/ foot off the gas). I posted this in another thread, but just thought I would double the question, double the fun . Thanks again. |
