Question Steering Column & Wheel

Hey gang... new member here. Just purchased a 1970 C10 4x4. It came pretty well restored... just needs some things here and there. One thing I wanted to fix right off the bat was the steering column and wheel... it has a '93 installed.

I found LMC sells the nice Tilt Wheel Steering Column kit with classic wood steering wheels.

I'm no gearhead, so I was wondering if anyone knew how hard of job this would be to swap out and what I could expect in labor charges. (I live in NE Ohio... if anyone can recommend an honest mech, all the better)

Thanks for any info.

Re: Steering Column & Wheel

Welcome to the board.

There are several people that sell rebuilt steering columns on here. You will save money and more than likely be happier with it. Jegs sells the grant version of the wood steering wheel. Classic look and cheaper thru jegs.

Re: Steering Column & Wheel

to the board from Lake County California! It's not real hard to swap out a steering column. Some of the work is in restricted spaces but is doable and fortunately all the wiring just plugs in.
