Rear Gas Tank Carpet....Question
This question are for those wiser than I...I have buckets in my truck and the question I have is this: From your experience does the carpet on all trucks fasten to the rear of the cab wall using "Trim Screws" or does some trucks fasten the carpet by clips to the top of the gas tank? Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear Gas Tank Carpet....Question
I forgot to mention the back of my cab have factory holes where the original carpet was fastened. Since I have buckets...I was wondering if the buckets were different than the trucks with bench seats.

Re: Rear Gas Tank Carpet....Question
The carpet that I bought just hooked onto the top of the tank. I took some 3M adhesive spray and stuck it to the tank in a few places just to keep it from moving around. Also, consider some sound deadening material back there. It can make a big difference!

Re: Rear Gas Tank Carpet....Question
From factory, they did attach to the body. There used to be a post that showed original carpet still attached to the body about a year or so ago. I didn't think it was just trim screws that held it on though. I thought there was a piece of metal to back the screws/bolts. I tried to look for the pic for ya, but I haven't had any luck yet. I do know though that all factory bucket seat trucks somehow fastened to the back of the cab and not the tank, though I used the only gas tank carpet repro'd right now, which is the type that clips over the gas tank. Re: Rear Gas Tank Carpet....Question
Thanks guys...I am in dialog with WES (Classic Heartbeat) about this and I do see that GMC Pauls has the gas tank carpet that fastens to the back of the cab...not the gas tank if I am reading his descrition correctly. Curt (the guy doing my resto) says he remembers that the carpet was attached to the back cab and not the gas tank. This is a picture of my gas tank area before I took it in for her transformation...looks like there was a piece that went across the top of the carpet though its hard to tell...
