Re: Action's project - 1966 C10
I decided on a body off restoration. I didn't want to regret anything later.

Re: Action's project - 1966 C10
I need a little help, I can't seem to get this apart! I first put the frame up on jacks, then jacked up the lower A arm and loosened the castle nut about a 1/4 inch, lowered the jack and beat it to death with a 3 pound hammer and also tried a pickle fork. Any suggestions? As you can see, I gave up and just cut the spring with a grinder. I re-attached it to the wheel and tried beating on it some more. HELP! I still have the other side to do.

Re: Action's project - 1966 C10
I got the crossmember removed.
With the help of a "little" PB Blaster of course.

Re: Action's project - 1966 C10
Got the trailing arms removed from the frame and from the rear axle. Those U-bolts were something else, can you say hernia?

Re: Action's project - 1966 C10
It was $548 for them to blast and powder coat the frame and the other miscellaneous parts.
I took it in on Friday and it was ready on Wednesday the following week. We moved from Columbus, GA to Walla Walla, WA when I was 5 years old. I spent plenty of time in the Tri-Cities, it was the "big city" for us.
