I need to cut a hole for my trailer light Plug. Do any of you know an easier way to do it that other than a Jigsaw???? I am drawing a Blank!!

Drill bit ? Might fab a bracket and bolt that on. Not a big fan of hacking on a truck.

I always use a hole saw if it's a round plug.

Get a Greenlee hole punch for a clean hole. Electrical supply houses carries them, I think even Home Depot.

How big of a hole? I'd use a drill bit or ...... alright dammit, what's the name of the drill bit that makes a bigger hole??? You know what I mean, use one of those.

I cant think of the name of it either!! lol The drill bit that has a drill bit in the center and the larger hole aroud the outside of it.

LIke for cutting out door knob holes and such

Maybe it is just a hole saw. lol

Yeah guys its a hole saw. Thats what he needs if its anything over 1/2". The only reason I say anything over 1/2", is because 1/2" is the most popular chuck size and he might not have a big enough drill to use a bigger drill bit. Hole saw all the way, with a good drill of course, you dont want it getting stuck half way through and bending the steel. After you cut the hole, I suggest you paint the hole, to stop rust, then install a grommet, unless the plug has something like this already.

Thanks Guys!!! I am putting a Hinge on my rear License plate and drilling the hole in the piece behind it. My plate will cover the Plug when it is not in use!!!

A buddy had a Metal Hole Saw!! I used it today and boy did it work sweet!!!! I picked up a Hinge off of an 84 Camaro, and the whole thing went together without a proverbial Hitch!! Thanks Guys!!!
