That was my next question. Are all the shackle kits the same as long as their 73-87?

I would guess 33" and maybe 35" with a 3" body lift, might still have rubbing though. Also depends on tire width and rim backspacing.

I wouldn't go bigger than 4" though since you might start to run into other issues, driveshaft length, steering issues etc...

I would buy a complete tuff country kit or something that will have all the aprts you need.

i absolutely hate that question, because it is so super freaking subjective. i know of people that have 40"+ tires with only 4"s. he has said nothing about willingness to trim or hack if need be. in my world you stuff as much tire as you are comfortable with cutting away from the sheet metal.

Have you gotten a chance to get some pictures of the lift you are talking about. Sounds like a simple job. If I am understanding you correctly you are using the front hangers off the rear of another 4x4 swaping them from side to side and a longer shackle? I assume you are also taking some of the leafs out of the stack?
