removing rearend on a 69 c10????

I'm removing the rearend off of our '69 parts truck to put on my '70. I have it all loose, I have the 4 (two per side) big nuts off of the U-bolts, but the rearend is still stuck on the trailing arms and it doesn't want to come off.

how hard should it be to remove it?????

any tips???? I tried searching but found nothing

The u-bolts are usually rusted inside the arm. Hit them with a big hammer. You will want to replace them anyhow. Sometimes you have to put some heat to them.

Yeah they dont' give up so easy after 40 years. Stay with it you will get it. You could always use the hot wrench on the bolts. Cut those suckers.

that's basically what we did, and we finally got 'em out!!!!

I pulled the cover and the oil looks brand new, the truck has been sitting for over 10 years. The truck has a 3.07 open diff, the same thing I already had. I wish I had the money to switch it out to a 3.73 posi.

ever use SOK penetrating oil in the green can!!!! it works every time, that and a 12# sledge hammer and a 36" crowbar
