How Much Drop by Cutting 1 Coil off front coil springs?
How much of a drop can I expect if I cut one full coil off the front coils on my 70 C20? Would I get about 3" or more or less? I just wanna know so that when I get drop shocks I know what size to get. Thanks

Don't go cheap! You might end up hurting yourself and your truck! Just get drop coils - they are progressive and will help you from bottoming out like you will with stock cut coils.

I agree, go with dropped springs. To answer your question though, the rule of thumb is 1 inch drop to each 1/4 coil that you cut, so if you cut a full coil, you'll get a 3-4 inch drop.

Actually I just had it done and I love it. yes the rid is a bit rougher but nothing that would kill anyone. And I saved a lot of money in the process. Later on down the road when I have the money I will ether do it with drop springs or bag the truck.

I dont know about cutting more out but I deffinatly think that I will want to go lower when i get my new rims because they will be 2.5inches shorter than the monster tires i got on there now. But the back deffinatly need some attention.

Drop springs are cheep, but if you want to cut the coils, every coil is about 2" or so.. Example cut one full coil=2" and so on.... At least that is what I have ran into, just remember that the more you take off the softer the ride will be and you could start to bottom out... Have fun..
